What you need to know to keep you safe

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear the appropriate PPE for the task, such as safety goggles, ear defenders, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed boots. Never operate machinery without the required protection.
Training and Competence: Never operate equipment you are not trained to use. If you are unsure about any aspect of the machine's operation, stop and ask our staff for a demonstration.
Pre-Use Inspection: Before starting, check the equipment for any visible damage, frayed cables, or missing safety guards. If you find any issues, do not use the machine and contact us immediately.
Read the Manual: Every piece of hire equipment is supplied with safety instructions. Familiarise yourself with these before operating the tool.

Cable Management: Keep power cables away from water, sharp edges, and high-traffic areas. Use RCD (Residual Current Device) protection where necessary to prevent electric shocks.
Guards and Safety Devices: Never remove, bypass, or disable safety guards or emergency stop buttons. These are in place to prevent serious injury.
Moving Parts: Keep loose clothing, jewelry, and long hair tied back or secured away from moving parts to prevent entanglement.

Work Area: Keep your workspace clean, well-lit, and free of clutter. Ensure there is enough space to operate the equipment safely without endangering others.
Bystanders: Keep children, pets, and unauthorized personnel away from the work area while equipment is in use.
Ventilation: Never use petrol or diesel-powered equipment in enclosed, poorly ventilated spaces, as this leads to a dangerous buildup of carbon monoxide.
Storage: When not in use, store tools securely and out of reach of children. Disconnect power sources or remove batteries when leaving equipment unattended.

If you experience any faults, strange noises, or safety concerns while using the equipment, stop work immediately, secure the area, and notify the hire branch. Do not attempt to modify or repair the equipment yourself.
